Making the Band 4 Season Finale: Is it the Beginning of the End of Danity Kane?

Does Diddy really kick Aubrey out of Danity Kane? It sure seemed liked it at the end of the season finale of MTV's Making the Band 4. With less than 20 minutes left of the episode, Diddy has a meeting with Danity Kane to discuss the future of the group that ends on a sour note for Aubrey.

The beginning of the episode was fun and happy. The girls of Danity Kane and the guys of Day 26 enjoy an all-expense paid trip, courtesy of Diddy, to Cabo San Lucas. Danity Kane and Day 26 have fun in Mexico while Donnie Klang stays in the NYC to promote his album, Just a Rolling Stone. Danity Kane and Day 26 swim with dolphins, the groups celebrate Robert's 24th birthday and all is good in the hood.

After a few days in the sun, Danity Kane and Day 26 along with Donnie meet with Diddy for a meeting in New York City. The meeting starts with a lot of koombaya and praise from Diddy. He congratulates all of the groups on their successful albums and Making the Band Tour. After the boys are excused from the meeting, it's time to get to the nitty gritty with the Danity Kane gals.

First, Diddy addresses Andrea directly. I was shocked to learn that she once wanted out of the group. Her reasons: She believes that everyone's focus has changed. Other members of Danity Kane want to act and do other things outside of the group, and Andrea just wants to be a member of Danity Kane and sing.

Then, big mouth Aubrey gives Diddy her take on the reality of the group. She expresses her concern with what she believes to be improper management as well as Diddy's attempt to make Dawn a solo star. Aubrey believes that Diddy is manipulating and keeping secrets when it comes to his vision for Dawn as well as Danity Kane. Diddy sets her straight and reminds her that if she doesn't like the way that he manages his businesses, then she can leave. I believe he said something about "the beauty of America" and that Aubrey doesn't have any "shackles."

After Aubrey finally shuts up, Dawn gives a piece of her mind. She admits that there are clicks within the group. Viewers know the obvious click between D. Woods and Aubrey, also known as Ebony and Ivory. Dawn also points out how Danity Kane doesn't always have five members at shows, red carpet events and other events. Whether it's Aubrey doing her Broadway thing or D. Woods and Andrea doing their own things; sometimes Danity Kane is a four member group.

Diddy goes back and forth with, you guessed it, Aubrey, on more issues and eventually lets her know that he no longer wants her to be in the group. He doesn't appreciate the way that she talks to him, and I can't blame him. Diddy is the boss and for some reason, Aubrey seemly forgets that.

Of course, MTV throws a curve ball, and there's going to be a part two of the Making the Band 4 finale. After this episode, complete with dramatic thunder and rain during Diddy's meeting with the girls, we have to wait utnil next week to see the conclusion to this Danity Kane drama.

Stay tuned!

I love all things pop culture. I care about everything from who's pregnant with who's baby, to who's the latest teen celebrity (rich brat) to get arrested. My professional background includes PR, which probably explains my need to be in the know about as much as possible when it comes to current events, celebrity gossip and who's doing what on reality shows.
